Military Biography: Commissioned through OCS in December of 1962 shortly after the Cuban Missile Crisis. Assigned to USS Waldron DD699 for 2 years. Home ported out of Norfolk, VA with deployment to the North Atlantic, Mediterranean and Caribbean.
Last year of active duty in 1965 was spent at NAAS Meridian as part of the Naval Air Basic Training Command as a ground instructor teaching Naval history, ship and aircraft recognition and the UCMJ to student pilots.
Most Memorable Moment: Forming a friendship with flight instructor John S. McCain at NAAS Meridian.
